WWBC Event Rules 2006-2007
The Rules for the 2006 – 2007 WWBC Pro Series will be based on the following criteria. Each day will start at 5.30am with Boaters and their drawn Non-boater partners loading their necessary gear into their boats and after livewells are checked they will line up at the start area in readiness for the starting siren at 6.00am. Boaters and non boaters will then head off to their chosen fishing locations for the day. All watches will be synchronised before leaving the starting point and anglers will be able to start fishing once the start siren sounds. DON’T BE DISSAPOINTED BY TURNING UP LATE. ANGLERS CANNOT FISH UNTIL BOTH BOATER AND CO ANGLERS ARE ON BOARD. PLEASE ENSURE YOU CONTACT YOUR RELEVANT PARTNER THE DAY BEFORE EACH EVENT AND PHONE IF A PROBLEM ARISES.
Anglers then have exactly 5 hours to fish within the designated
boundaries for their allocated bag limits and then return to the starting
area for the final check/weigh-in. Anglers have to be on the
start launch site before any time/weight penalties will be incurred. Late
arrivals outside the allocated finish time period will be docked 1 championship
point per minute. The time keepers watch will be the final finish time so
ensure you allow yourself enough time to return.
Note the Start Launch Site finish area will be given at each
venue, otherwise it will be deemed as the ramp itself.
BOUNDARIES AND RESTRICTIONS
A map indicating the fishing boundaries for each event will be presented prior
to the days fishing. Anglers must stay within this area, as any fish taken
outside this zone will not be included. Normal waterways and council restricted
zones apply along with a few more that will be indicated on your event map.
BOAT ETIQUETTE
Mobile phones are allowed but should not affect or be a distraction to the
operation of the boats skipper. Anglers are asked to wear PFD’s or similar
flotation devices whilst under power of the main engine. To give everyone
a fair chance we advise that boats should be at least 30feet apart during
fishing. Boats and anglers that are moving into a new area were an existing
crew are placed and fishing should not move in front of them or cause them
to deviate from there path. Once again use angler discretion, and allow a
boat and its crew a fare go. After all this is for fun, not sheep stations.
Anglers must also stay within their boats at all times whilst fishing and
cannot leave the boat.
TACKLE AND LURE RESTRICTIONS
Anglers are limited to a maximum of 6 rod and reel outfits only per event
with a total tackle bag weight of 15kg. No handlines or Kelly rods allowed.
Only one rod can be in play at a time, which means if an angler snags his
lure he cannot pick up another rod and cast. He must free or break off that
rod before he can recast again. We ask that lures that do become snagged be
retrieved were possible for the safety of others and wildlife.
The lure restriction rules are simple. Only artificial lures and flies can
be used which includes surface lures, crankbaits/hardbodies, spinnerbaits,
jigs and soft plastics. Scents may also be used, providing they are Commercial
produced and not home made. The following is not allowed.
*NO NATURAL PRODUCTS OR BAITS *NO PREBAITING OR BERLEYING AT ANY TIME BEFORE
OR DURING AN EVENT.
BAG LIMITS
The WWBC bag limits for this year will be set at 5 individual fish attaining
a minimum legal length of 25cm measured from the nose to the tip of the tail.
(See diagram attached for further details) Due to bass bag limits and the
general size of most boats in this years field we have decided to adopt a
new system that will reduce the need for
Large bulky livewells. To do this, each angler will carry a scorecard that
will be filled out and signed by his or her angling partner on the day.
On each card there is a weight/length chart, which can be used as a reference
guide, while on the opposite page there are two sets of columns for filling
out catch data. The right side contains 30 squares that require a tick each
time an angler captures a bream/bass (all sizes included, even small fish).
To the left of this there are ten larger squares. Within these larger boxes
each angler will have there 25+ (legal size) fish recorded along with a time
of capture. Each fish must be recorded immediately after capture or else that
fish will be ineligible for that round.
NOTE: Scorecards cannot be filled out at the venue upon return.
Each angler is required to bring back to the weigh-in area their two largest
fish for measuring and photographing for the WWBC Website. On water pictures
will also be greatly appreciated. The remaining fish (max 3) will be given
the weight estimated by the weight/length ratio chart shown on the scorecard.
The time frame will become important if a tie eventuates on any WWBC Pro Series
Round in regard to largest fish.
WWBC SCORING SYSTEM
There will be 10 events during the 2006/2007 WWBC series with points awarded
from 1st place down to last place. Anglers who return a zero 25+ catch card
